About the Bwiti Tradition

The Bwiti Tradition

The Bwiti tradition is an ancient mystical science, originating from the Pygmies in the forests of the Congo river basin. It comes from the Primordial Tradition, the universal knowledge from which all spiritual traditions of humanity originate.

The Bwiti tradition is made of a series of ancestral mystico-spiritual initiation rites, using the root of the sacred iboga tree. There are many different branches of the Bwiti tradition and Missoko and Dissoumba Fang are two of them. These are rituals — the practice of spirituality.

The tradition has a number of different branches. We organise initiations for Bwiti Missoko and Bwiti Fang.

WHICH BRANCH IS FOR ME?

Both Missoko and Dissoumba Fang traditions will help you to reconnect with yourself and receive healing to your body, soul and spirit. However each tradition has its own “taste” and specificity.

In simple words, if you are seeking to understand the laws of Nature, communicate with terrestrial spirits (Earth, plants and animals), and realize the Universe that is within you, Missoko would be the right choice for you. The initiation is very active, you need to move through some obstacles and overcome difficulties to get the results.

If you are looking to connect with the Divine, your Higher Self, the celestial spirits and understand the Universe without - then you will benefit from any of Bwiti Fang initiations. They are full of Love and you will be mostly in the receiving mode, rather than in active.

Some may want to experience both Bwiti Missoko and Bwiti Fang during the same trip to Gabon, which is possible, but we advise you to plan you journey accordingly as you need preparation and integration time after each initiation. We advise you to reserve at least a month for such rich experience.
