About the Bwiti Tradition
The Bwiti Tradition in this current form originates from the Pygmies in the forests of the Congo River basin. It comes from the Primordial Tradition, the Universal knowledge from which all spiritual traditions of humanity originate.
The Bwiti Tradition is made of a series of ancestral mystical-spiritual initiation rites, using the root of the sacred iboga tree. It allows the initiate to enter other fields of consciousness and to navigate them in spirit accompanied by the sound of a sacred instrument and songs, which act as a guiding thread in this journey within. Through visions and experiences, this helps the initiate to tap into the Universal Source of the Highest Knowledge.

About the MIMBARA INITIATION
The Engong Mimbara is a profound and beautiful expression of the Bwiti Tradition. Though in its current form, it emerged in Gabon in the mid-20th century, its roots trace back to ancient times, including prehistorical Egypt and beyond. Its teachings explore the deepest mysteries of Divine Providence, which are revealed exclusively to the initiated.
In ancient Egypt, out of 1,000 candidates, only 10 were selected for initiation, and from those, just one would be accepted to continue the study of the Divine Mysteries. As humanity progresses in its spiritual evolution, these teachings are gradually becoming accessible to a broader range of spiritual seekers, offering initiates a deeper understanding of Creation, the Law of Karma (Divine Justice), and its application to life. These teachings underscore the importance of spiritual evolution for every individual, emphasizing the journey toward self-understanding, self-realization, and enlightenment.
About the Nima (Initiator)
In Gabon, we collaborate with multiple highly regarded Bwiti Masters. Initiation “Engong Mimbara” will be facilitated by Nima Jeaures (Angap Dzam) and his team. Our spiritual school is associated with the late Bwiti Master Atome Ribenga, whose former students have also become Bwiti Masters.
Nima Angap Dzam is the author of “M’mui, the Intimate Friend” book, exclusively available for purchase on our website. This book gives information about one of the fundamental teachings of the Mimbara branch.
About the HARPIST (BETI NGOMA)
Michael (Ntou Toum)
is a Bwiti ceremonial musician and a master (Beti Ngoma) of the sacred harp Ngombi, with over 35 years of dedicated practice. His apprenticeship began under the guidance of his mother, a consecrated nima of the Dissoumba Fang tradition. He further honed his craft under the tutelage of the renowned master and sacred musician Nzet Mbwe. For more than a decade, Michel served as the harpist at the temple of Master Atome Ribenga in Libreville, and to this day, he continues to collaborate with nimas from the same school.
Michel will be part of our team in Egypt in 2025.
